19 of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden championship for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a torrid period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with former mentor his previous coach.
Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since that period of 2023.
The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the first title I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six championship matches, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring reactions on court had led observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was over.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
He fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first tour championship, gained dominance to create a third set.
The opponent saved four initial break points in a competitive deciding set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, he earned the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
