Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, demons, and sinister influences growing in power within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, attacking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the northern region in quest for the traitor.
